I think the problem really is more about where people are looking and who they’re targeting. A lot of creators are just focused on Japan and the Japanese market and aren’t really aware of what people around the world want. Regarding technology, I think in Japan there are less people going abroad, and maybe less people going to, say, M.I.T. and being at the cutting edge of things. From a technology standpoint, I think Japan is lagging behind a bit.

If you talk about the war between Japanese developers and those overseas, I acknowledge that we have already lost. The Japanese creators have lost to the European and American creators. Therefore, I always say to my staff, Don’t look at the Japanese creators. Look toward the Europeans and Americans when looking at development

I think we’ll probably have to make it at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea. As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, probably won’t be as much as it was with MGS1 – maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on – that level I can’t do again.

Kojima Confirms Metal Gear 5

Famed game creator Hideo Kojima confirmed in the upcoming issue of Official Playstion Magazine UK, that yes, there will be another Metal Gear game. But didn’t Hideo say that MGS4 was the last Metal Gear? Yeah, but Phish said they would never tour again either. People can change their mind. And in this case, I’m very excited to hear about it.

Currently the details are next to nothing. What is known, is that Hideo confirms MGS5, and speaks his thoughts on Metal Gear: Rising, and Project Ogre.

The following quote was taken from Official Playstation Magazine UK:

"As part of our world exclusive chat and photo shoot, he also gives his open and frank opinions on Metal Gear Solid Rising – the first PlayStation MGS he’s neither written nor directed – and openly discusses his plans for Metal Gear Solid 5 and Project Ogre for the first time."

Look for the next issue of Official Playstation Magazine to hit the shelves November 29th. Until then, if you have never played a Metal Gear game, then go out and play one RIGHT NOW!

Prototype Meryl Figurine … Wow!
Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, has released this photo via his Twitter account.  It’s a figurine, by Play Arts Kai, of Meryl (Metal Gear Solid/Guns of the Patriots) in her prime; and by “prime” I’m talking about her physique.
